We use persistent homology to measure air phase distributions in sandstone rocks; and relate the air phase structure to subsequent mobilization a nd trapping during brine flooding. Thecorrelation between persistent homology-based metrics and fluid trapping is valid for a range of sandstone types, initial air conditions, and image parameters.
