Overcoming challenges associated with the analysis of nacre in the atom probe (139)

In this work the nacre layer of black mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis (Lamarck, 1819) was examined via atom probe tomography. This paper describes the approaches that were used to overcome challenges that were encountered during sample preparation and analysis, which mainly arise from the insulating and heterogeneous nano-scale properties of nacre.
