To optimize theextraction of Rare Earth Elements (REE)in terms of environmental impact a pneumatic fracturing technique should be developed for a specific mining area in Madagascar. Therefore, laboratory tests with a triaxial test devicewere performed and additional X-ray micro-computed tomography (μ-CT) enabled the observation of induced fracturesunder reservoir conditions.
